Rangers round-up: Woodburn linked, reported interest in Docherty and Gerrard challenges Grezda

, Rangers are interested in signing Ben Woodburn on loan from Liverpool.

Steven Gerrard will hope to use his Liverpool links to land the 19-year-old on loan this month.

Rangers previously wanted Woodburn last summer but he went on loan to Sheffield United instead.

The Wales international has since been recalled due to a lack of game time, although Rangers face competition from five Championship clubs, including Blackburn Rovers and West Brom.

Rangers midfielder Greg Docherty is attracting attention from the Championship, .

Rotherham United want to take the 22-year-old on loan after being impressed with his performances this season.

Docherty was sent on loan to League One side Shrewsbury Town last summer and has been a standout performer in midfield.

The Scotland under-21 international has scored seven goals in 29 games and he could now be set for a test at a higher level.

Rangers manager Gerrard has challenged winger Eros Grezda to prove he is good enough to play for the club, .

The Albania international moved to Scotland last summer in a reported £2m switch ().

But after managing just two goals in 17 games (both of which came against Motherwell), Rangers fans have been questioning the 23-year-old’s ability.

: “Grezda has got it all to prove. He needs to push himself to prove to everyone he’s capable of being a Rangers player.”
