Rangers round-up: Pena rumours rubbished, Moult on previous interest and Davis available

 Carlos Pena could make a loan move to Leon.

The 28-year-old is back at Rangers after a loan spell with Nexaca but he is not eligible until January.

Leon’s president Jesus Martinez, however, has denied that Pena is set to return to Mexico .

Moult “buzzing” with previous Rangers interest

Preston North End striker Louis Moult admits that he was flattered to be linked with Rangers in the past.

Speaking on Open Goal with Simon Ferry, : “It was flattering really, a big club like that wanted me so I was buzzing so I was thinking let’s see what happens. But nothing ever came of it.”

The 26-year-old left Motherwell to join Preston and has scored five goals this season.

Green light for Steven Davis

Rangers have been given the go-ahead to sign Southampton midfielder Steven Davis, .

The 33-year-old is out of contract at Southampton next summer and new manager Ralph Hasenhuttl will not prevent him from leaving.

The Northern Ireland man is allowed to move for free and a return to Rangers is the most likely destination.
