Rangers round-up: Gerrard wants reaction, Coulibaly return and Adam to Ibrox?

Gerrard wants reaction against Dundee

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has urged his players to bounce back from defeat to Celtic against Dundee.

The Gers lost for the first time under Gerrard’s management before the international break to their bitter rivals in the Old Firm Derby thanks to an Olivier Ntcham goal.

Celtic were worth their 1-0 win, but Rangers are still in a transition phase and arguably needed to experience defeat to stop them getting carried away.

He said, : “It was a tough result to take, especially with the timing of it. The last thing you want is a couple of weeks to debrief that game. After a set-back, you always want a game straight away to get it out your system.

“The players should be bottling the hurt of that result in that fixture and go take it out on Dundee.”

Lassana Coulibaly set to return

Gerrard may have lost Gareth McAuley and Ryan Jack to injury, but he can welcome back Lassana Coulibaly.

The Frenchman has been sidelined for the past month with a thigh strain.

Gerrard said : “Lassana is back fit and available and will be involved in the 18 tomorrow. Really pleased to have him back, we’ve missed him a lot.”

Rangers certainly have missed him. Coulibaly has only played a handful of games but the midfielder on loan from Angers has already proven himself to be the all-action driving force the team needs.

Charlie Adam to Ibrox?

Earlier in the week it was Darren Bent, but now Charlie Adam has expressed his desire to work with Gerrard.

The former Light Blue played with his ‘idol’ Gerrard at Anfield and is keen to link back up with him.

The 32-year-old said he would return to Ibrox ‘if the opportunity came up’ during an Instagram Q&A ().
