Rangers newcomer praised for being ‘model of professionalism’ with ‘unwavering commitment’
Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers of Kemar Roofe on Tuesday afternoon, the 27-year-old joining the Ibrox side on a four-year deal.
The 27-year-old joins from Anderlecht for a reported £4million fee (), returning to Britain after a year-long stint in Belgium, prior to which he played for Leeds United.
Roofe scored 32 goals in 122 games for Leeds and was highly rated by Marcelo Bielsa, who admitted last August that he couldn’t “be happy” to see the attacker leave ().
At Anderlecht, he unfortunately saw his campaign hampered by injury, but still managed a respectable in 16 appearances in all competitions.
Roofe’s former employers have spoken very highly of him, sports director Peter Verbeke saying on the club’s official : “We would like to thank Kemar Roofe for his unwavering commitment.
“He was a model of professionalism with us. We wish him every success at his new top club. This transfer is an excellent opportunity for Kemar to sign a long contract and it’s also the right choice for RSC Anderlecht.”

In the space of a couple of hours on Tuesday afternoon, Rangers solved their crisis up front by bringing in two high-quality strikers.
Roofe – who can play on the wing, in attacking midfield and up front – was actually , though the Glasgow club lost out to the Belgian side in the end.
With Alfredo Morelos’ future at Ibrox in doubt, Roofe is a welcome addition to Rangers, a versatile and talented player who has received plenty of plaudits including from the great Marcelo Bielsa.
