Fabrizio Romano has claimed Rangers are interested in a deadline day move for Aaron Ramsey.

However, the move would be dependent on Ramsey and personal terms.

When Rangers fans woke this morning, I think one of the last players they would expect to be linked with on deadline day would be Ramsey.

Ramsey has made over 370 appearances for Arsenal and over 70 for Juventus.

His wage is well known in football — !

Aaron Ramsey would be marquee move

It would be a huge statement from Rangers, as they have dropped four points since the return from the winter break.

Ramsey has only played Serie A game this season and two Champions League games so he would likely be lacking in match fitness.

, Ramsey made 13 starts in Serie A.

The Welsh international has notably had his of injuries in his career, several different types of injury.

However, if he can get in and settle quickly and overcome his injuries then it would be a massive coup for a Scottish club.

Rangers have been crying out for a box-to-box midfielder for years.

Ramsey would bring a goal-threat, something that has alluded the Rangers midfield when deploying Glen Kamara and Steven Davis.

Ramsey would likely go straight into the line-up for the Old Firm game this Wednesday.

Massive season

Rangers lead at the top of the table has been reduced from six points to just two since the restart from the winter break.

The Light Blues could find themselves second in the league by Wednesday night.

In any season that is unacceptable but especially this season.

The winner of this seasons Cinch Scottish Premiership will gain automatic qualification to the Champions League.

The riches that come with European qualification for Scottish clubs is astronomical.

It could set a side three or four years ahead of their rival.

It is an absolute necessity for Rangers.

Rangers fans will be hoping this kind of marquee signing will go a long way to help securing the title and subsequent qualification to the elite of football.

Fan Reaction to Aaron Ramsey

Rangers fans have been reacting to the news of Ramsey’s potential move on social media.

Expected incomings at Ibrox

Elsewhere, Rangers are expected to complete the signings of and .

Souttar has already penned a pre-contract agreement and was expected to move in the summer.

However, Rangers injuries to Helander and Balogun may speed up the process.

Calvin Bassey has come in and deputised but has looked shaky the last few games and played his part in the defensive woes during the 3–3 draw with Ross County.

Rangers fans are slightly concerned going into the Old Firm game with Bassey at the heart of defence and it should see Rangers agree a fee today to bring Souttar in.

Souttar was subbed off at the weekend, asked on a potential January move, hearts manager Robbie Neilson

“There’s been nothing new with John. Although I saw they lost three goals today so I might get a phone call!

“But at this moment in time there’s been nothing.

“He’s fine. He’s left here and he’ll be back in tomorrow. And I expect he’ll be available for Tuesday if he’s still here.”

Zukowski will likely be a replacement for Nathan Patterson who left for Everton in a £16m deal this window.

Zukowski, 20 will likely be the back-up player to captain James Tavernier.

Although, has noted that he has spent a good part of his career in the left-wing position.

Possible outgoings

Rangers will also be looking to get rid of some players who are not in the managers plans.

Jack Simpson has been linked with a move to Middlesbrough or Swansea and it is expected he will leave the club today.

John Lundstram has been linked with a with former boss Chris Wilder at Middlesbrough .

Furthermore, Rangers could hope to find a suitor for .

It definitely appears as though it will be a busy transfer deadline day at Ibrox.
