‘Stop that’: Rangers fans in awe of Jordan Jones after Blackburn Rovers contest

Rangers played their part in an entertaining 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers yesterday at Ibrox.

The Teddy Bears took the lead in the first half through Jermain Defoe, before Lewis Travis restored parity for Tony Mowbray’s team.

Next up for the Gers is Progres of Luxembourg in the Europa League qualifiers.

The minnows famously knocked Rangers out of Europe in embarrassing fashion when Pedro Caixinha was in charge.

Steven Gerrard will hope to avoid such a feat when the two sides lock horns on Thursday evening.

Following yesterday’s game, new signing Jordan Jones took to Twitter to speak of his enjoyment at facing Championship opposition:

It was his delicious cross that allowed Defoe to nod Rangers in front and their link-up will have delighted the club’s supporters.

The 24-year-old joined the Gers from Kilmarnock this summer and is already showing signs of promise.

Boss Gerrard completed the deal for the Northern Ireland international in January, agreeing for the move to take place this summer.

Jones appears to be hitting the ground running and supporters already think he can become a big player for the club.
