Rangers have chance to directly compare loanee Zak Rudden with reported January target Lawrence Shankland tonight
Rangers are playing against Hibernian tonight but they would be wise to send a scout to watch the Scottish Championship clash between Falkirk and Ayr United.
Falkirk host Ayr in the second tier of Scottish football and there is vested interest from Rangers’ point of view.
Zak Rudden is a promising young Rangers starlet who is currently out on loan at Falkirk. And he prepares to face Ayr striker Lawrence Shankland, who was linked with Rangers in January.
Rangers can use tonight’s fixture to compare and contrast two strikers who could be part of Rangers’ future plans.
Rudden joined Falkirk in the summer, penning a season-long loan from Rangers in order to get some first-team football under his belt.
And the 19-year-old has been in impressive form, netting 10 goals in 21 matches to help Falkirk’s battle against relegation.
Tonight, the Scotland under-21 international will come up against Shankland – one of the hottest properties in Scottish football.

With 31 goals in 32 games (following 29 in 33 last season), it is easy to see why Steven Gerrard was keen.
