‘Looking good’: Rangers fans react to performance of Filip Helander in Derby County win

Rangers rounded off their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 victory over Championship outfit Derby County.

In truth, it was a one-sided contest as far as Rangers were concerned.

But for Kelle Roos in the Derby goal, Steven Gerrard would have seen his side register a landslide victory.

Instead, it was settled by a Nikola Katic header seven minutes from time.

New signing Filip Helander was handed the chance to start for the Gers and he didn’t disappoint.

The 26-year-old penned a four-year contract at Ibrox, signing from Bologna for £3.5 million

Gerrard started the Swede alongside Katic at the heart of the back four yesterday and once again he highlighted his quality.

Given how much Rangers have paid to bring him to Scotland, he will be under pressure to perform.

It is a case of so far so good for the uncompromising defender, however, and the fans appear happy with their new recruit.

Following his performance over a Championship outfit, Rangers fans took to Twitter to speak of their delight at Helander’s display.

Here is a selection of tweets in relation to the big Swede:
