Rangers fans will love what the Dortmund supporters did after Lundstram’s goal last night – TBR View

Glasgow Rangers recorded one of their most famous European victories on Thursday night.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Ibrox charges took on Borussia Dortmund in their Europa League knockout playoff first leg.

The hosts were heavy favourites to win, given they’re in the race for the Bundesliga title and were at home.

However, Rangers blew them away with an incredible display en route to a 4-2 victory.

The Gers took the lead in the 38th minute as James Tavernier fired home from the penalty spot.

Three minutes later, the Ibrox captain was involved again for the Gers’ second.

Joe Aribo flicked Tavernier’s corner in at the near post for Alfredo Morelos to poke the ball home.

John Lundstram then made it three early in the second half with a fierce effort from Ryan Kent’s cutback.

After Lundstram’s goal, Dortmund fans were filmed clapping.

They could be applauding Lundstram’s goal or sarcastically clapping their team.

Either way, it’s something Rangers fans will surely love to see.

Dortmund went on to pull a goal back on 51 minutes through Jude Bellingham.

However, Dan-Axel Zagadou scored an own goal not long after to restore Rangers’ three-goal lead.

Raphael Guerreiro pulled another one back for the hosts eight minutes from time, but couldn’t mount a late comeback.

The return leg between Rangers and Dortmund takes place at Ibrox on Thursday 24 February.

Before then, Van Bronckhorst’s charges take on Dundee away on Sunday in the Scottish Premiership.
