Rangers fans react to Jon Flanagan’s performance in 2-1 away defeat against Hearts

Rangers lost ground in the title race with Celtic yesterday by suffering a late 2-1 defeat at the hands of Hearts.

Liam Boyce’s winning goal condemned Steven Gerrard’s side to a loss which leaves them five points behind the leaders, albeit with a game in hand.

It was a poor performance across the pitch from the Gers but one player who was singled out and hooked at half time was Gerrard’s former Liverpool team mate Jon Flanagan.

He was replaced by Matt Polster at the interval and some Gers fans on Twitter preferred the American in the second period, despite the fact he was unable to help his side get the victory.

Flanagan came in for some criticism online after a frustrating afternoon for Gerrard’s men, and the fact he used to play alongside his manager at Liverpool was cited as a reason for his continued presence in the team.

It seems Polster should be the deputy for James Tavernier and some feel Flanagan should be dropped for his display for the first 45 minutes yesterday.
