Shrewsbury Town revealed the club’s Player of the Year this evening and it was no surprise when Greg Docherty picked up the award. The Scottish youngster has had an exceptional season on loan at the New Meadow. His record of 10 goals and 11 assists in 50 games this season is quite outstanding and fans at the League One club will not want to see him go.
Player of The Year 2019 – Greg Docherty. Well done Greg! ?

Because, of course, he is owned by Rangers. Steven Gerrard could not guarantee him playing time at Ibrox so allowed the loan move so he could continue improving his game. He has certainly done just that.
Now the question is, will he return to Glasgow in the summer.

Rangers have a lot of central midfield options and are likely to add even more over the summer. Docherty would have a fight on his hands if he wanted to play regular football at Ibrox.
Recently, that Docherty is wanted by Hibernian and that the Easter Road outfit will lead the chase for his signature in the summer.
But many Rangers fans are clearly hoping that Gerrard gives him a run at Ibrox next term after his terrific season in England.
Here is how some fans reacted to news of his award win…
