Rangers fans react to Glen Kamara’s display in excellent Feyenoord win

On an emotional night at Rangers after the death of Fernando Ricksen, Rangers produced a stunning performance to beat Dutch side Feyenoord in their first Europa League clash – and Gers fans have reacted on Twitter to Glen Kamara’s display.

A packed-out Ibrox produced a spine-tingling atmosphere throughout and it gave Rangers the energy they needed to put Feyenoord to the sword in the first half. James Tavernier missed a penalty, hitting the outside of the right-hand post.

Chances came and went for Rangers, with Scott Arfield also hitting the woodwork. But it was Sheyi Ojo that broke the deadlock, smashing a left-footed effort past Kenneth Vermeer from 20 yards out.

Alfredo Morelos continued to shine up front with a stunning man-of-the-match display for Steven Gerrard’s side, but Feyenoord edged the second half. Rangers had goalkeeper Allan McGregor to thank, with the Scot making a number of saves.

However, Finland international Kamara struggled. Though the 23-year-old made a number of good passes and broke the play up, a number of mistakes showed his lack of match sharpness.

The former Arsenal man has failed to complete 90 minutes for Rangers since August 25, and it showed. Moments after a mistake which saw him pick up a yellow card, Kamara was replaced by Joe Aribo.

Kamara was seen as arguably one of Gerrard’s best signings since the Liverpool legend took over, starring for the Gers in the second half of last season. But fans are now asking, what has happened to the former Dundee man?
