Rangers fans react on Twitter to Scott Arfield’s display

A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to insist that Scott Arfield needs to be getting more credit after his outstanding display at Ibrox on Sunday.

Steven Gerrard’s side took full advantage of the opportunity to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 4-0 win against Aberdeen.

They have now won eight out of eight at home in the league. And Rangers are still yet to concede a single goal at Ibrox in the top flight. Remarkably, they have kept eight clean sheets in their last nine in all competitions.

So you could understand if Rangers fans were struggling to pick out a standout performer this term. But while there are so many contenders, some fans feel that one member of the Gers’ squad is not getting the plaudits they deserve.

Arfield got their third goal against the Dons. The 32-year-old made a nice run to latch onto Ryan Kent’s pass. His effort took a wicked deflection, but the Canada international will certainly not mind.

Plenty took to social media following the win to laud Arfield’s performance. They insisted that he is having a fantastic season, and playing some of the best football of his Gers spell.

Arfield is a player who has come in for criticism at times during his time with the club. But no-one seems to have anything but good things to say about the midfielder’s recent performances.
