A number of Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports claiming that Steven Gerrard wants to bring Gary Cahill to Ibrox this summer.
, the Gers are keen on the centre-back. And it is claimed that they are prepared to offer him a deal worth £35,000-a-week.

Cahill is technically out of contract with Crystal Palace. However, the Eagles are working to try and keep him at Selhurst Park.
But Rangers are seemingly hoping to produce a coup. The defender is a Champions League winner with over 400 Premier League appearances.

Admittedly, he is well into the twilight of his career. He turns 36 before the turn of the year.
However, Rangers have enjoyed huge success when signing experienced players from England in recent years.
The likes of Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe have been crucial to Gerrard’s side. The former pair, in particular, have been absolutely incredible in their second spells at Ibrox.
That may explain why some of the Rangers fans are divided. Some believe that signing Cahill makes little sense.
‘Would cruise it’: Rangers fans react to Gary Cahill links
The Gers have plenty of depth at centre-back, so spending £35,000-a-week on the defender seems to be a bizarre move.
Others however, are much more excited about the links. Some have pointed to the impact David Weir went on to have after arriving at the age of 36.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the reports…
That would actually be amazing, imagine goldson and Cahill as our centre half pairing 😍😍

Sorry but this is a bad move at 34, we should be looking for someone 20-22 that we can grow as a player and then have some cash back for them when the time is right.

I agree. Hes still a player who could help us.
