Steven Davis starred as Northern Ireland made it an international break to remember with two wins from two Euro 2020 qualifying matches – and Rangers fans are confused as to why he cannot do the same in Light Blue.
The 34-year-old scored a penalty in the 2-0 win over Estonia last week, with Aberdeen winger Niall McGinn also notching for his country. A 2-1 win over Belarus leaves Michael O’Neill’s side at the top of Group C.
That includes sitting ahead of Germany and the Netherlands. Once again, Davis played a key part on Sunday night as Northern Ireland made it two from two – notching an assist for his country’s first.

Despite being just 5ft 7in, Davis rose highest in the Belarus box to flick on a corner, which was finished well by Jonny Evans. Though Belarus equalised, McGinn’s low cross was converted by Josh Magennis in the 86th minute.
But it was another Davis masterclass in the middle of the park, showing Rangers fans just what he can do despite struggling at Ibrox since returning north of the border from Southampton in January.
Rangers fans reacted to Davis’ display on Twitter, with many bewildered at why the ex-Fulham midfielder cannot seem to produce the same level of performances when turning out for Steven Gerrard’s side.
Can this version of Steven Davis please turn up for Rangers at the weekend?
