Rangers fans react as Oli McBurnie responds when asked if he will move to Ibrox

Oli McBurnie has admitted to former Celtic star Si Ferry on Open Goal that he is confident he will play for Rangers at some point during his career – and Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter, urging him to move to Ibrox.

McBurnie, 23, is currently playing for Premier League side Sheffield United after the Scotland international made a huge £20million move to Bramall Lane from Swansea City last summer. He has scored just four goals in 26 league games.

However, Sheffield United’s strikers do a lot more than just score goals in Chris Wilder’s style of play and McBurnie has certainly been deemed as a good addition to the Blades side. However, it is renowned that he is a Rangers fan.

Indeed, McBurnie has shown his allegiance to the Rangers side on social media on numerous occasions. In an interview with the Open Goal team of Ferry, Paul Slane and Kevin Kyle, McBurnie said he will play for Rangers.

“I think I will,” , when asked if he thinks he will play for Rangers at some point during his career. “There’s been a couple of times where we’ve been close before.

“I met Stevie G and Gary Mac in Dubai the summer that they got the job. I was out in Dubai with Greegsy (Allan McGregor). “He was a top man. When I walked out that room I rang my agent and said ‘I want to play for him.”

During his time at Swansea prior to his move to Sheffield United, McBurnie netted a whopping 26 goals in 62 appearances. Certainly, the young striker has a big future ahead of him but if he is to join Rangers, his asking price will have to go down.

Many Rangers supporters put finances to one side, though, and reacted to his comments on Twitter by urging McBurnie to swap Sheffield for Glasgow and pull on the light blue shirt.
