Rangers fans react as club linked again with Martin Skrtel

Rangers are reportedly looking to sign Fenerbahce defender Martin Skrtel this summer, after failing to do so in the past two windows – and Rangers fans have reacted on Twitter.

the 34-year-old is being eyed by Rangers again, after the Slovakian’s contract looks set to expire with the Turkish side. He is believed to be earning £60,000 a week.

Last summer, Gerrard wanted his former Liverpool teammate but a £5million price tag put him off. In January, Rangers failed to come to an agreement with the defender’s wages too high.

Now, likely to be on the lookout for a new home, 6ft 3in Skrtel may be willing to take a pay cut and move to Ibrox. He is set to meet with club chiefs in the next few days, as both parties look to come to an agreement.

Enormous experience, the aggressive Skrtel is known for his hardman image – but he is so much more than that. 103 caps for his country and 320 outings for Liverpool, the centre-back has enormous quality and know how.

Rangers fans reacted to the news that their were interested in the powerful defender once again, and many are keen to see the ex-Zenit St. Petersburg and Liverpool defender put pen to paper on a deal at Ibrox.
