Scott Arfield starred in the Rangers cup victory over Hamilton over the weekend – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter hailed him for his performance.
Steven Gerrard’s side won away to top-flight rivals Hamilton 4-1 in the Scottish Cup fifth round, with the quarter-final draw to take place on Sunday.
Arfield opened the scoring on Saturday afternoon when he tapped in the rebound from his own missed penalty, but Lewis Smith responded wth a goal before half-time.
Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos both got on the scoresheet in the second-half to restore the Gers advantage.
Arfield then scored the goal of the match with a stunning long-range effort that he fired into the back of the net and he’s now up to seven goals in all competitions so far this season.
The 31-year-old central midfielder was dominant in the middle for the visitors and it looks like he’s rediscovered his form since the winter break.
He’s been an ever-present in Gerrard’s starting XI in recent weeks and has a tireless work-rate in the centre of the park.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media picked out midfielder Arfield for his latest display and felt he was the standout player on the pitch.
Here are some Rangers fans on Arfield:
Arfield was my MOTM even before this. Neat tidy and hardly gave ball way. Unlike some others today.

That has to be Arfield’s best game this season. Covered so much ground, snuffed out attacks, and obviously got his goals. Really hope he can kick on. Pler.

Arfield has been class since the winter break, but everyone else has been bang average
