Rangers fans praise defender Connor Goldson for Braga display

Connor Goldson starred during an impressive Rangers win over Braga on Wednesday – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were blown away by the quality of his performance.

Steven Gerrard’s side travelled to Portugal in midweek with a 3-2 aggregate lead over Braga from the first leg in the Europa League Round of 32.

The Gers produced an eye-catching away performance on Europe to win 1-0 in the second leg and progress to the last-16.

Ianis Hagi was denied from the penalty spot just before half-time, but Ryan Kent went on to net the only goal in the second-half with a composed left-footed finish after breaking through a high Braga line.

Rangers may have felt they should have scored more in the contest, while defensively they stood up to a wave of crosses into their box and ultimately kept a clean sheet.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media believe that Goldson had a tremendous impact during the Braga win and gave him immense credit.

The 27-year-old was a magnet in the penalty area with several headed clearances and a constant vocal leader in defence.

He is a centre-back that is an ever-present in the side with 47 appearances across all competitions this season, with his latest display certainly right up there as one of his individual best and he seems to raise his levels in Europe.
