Rangers fans hail Steven Davis after 1-0 win over Kilmarnock

Rangers moved 21 points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership table with a win on Saturday – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter picked out midfielder Steven Davis as a huge positive from the result.

The Gers secured a narrow 1-0 win against Kilmarnock at Ibrox, as they continued their charge towards the league title.

Ryan Jack was the match-winner with a stunning volley inside the first-half and it stretches the team’s home record to seven consecutive wins.

It was a contest where Steven Gerrard’s side weren’t at their very fluent best like they can be, but secured the points with a moment of magic.

It’s also worth noting that they have conceded just eight goals in 29 league games so far this campaign.

A selection of Rangers supporters on social media picked out their veteran midfielder Davis as the shining light from the result.

Aged 36, the Northern Irishman is still an ever-present in the starting XI and showed his class once again on Saturday.

He runs the show in the centre of the park for his team with his passing range and confidence on the ball, plus he’s a real leader and example for teammates around him.
