Rangers fans discuss Scott Wright’s cameo role against Dundee United

Scott Wright made his third Rangers appearance on Sunday afternoon as the Gers produced a 4-1 win over Dundee United, though the scoreline flattered Steven Gerrard’s men – and Rangers fans have responded on Twitter.

The Gers earned all three points and took a massive step towards confirming the Scottish Premiership title thanks to goals from Joe Aribo, Ianis Hagi, Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent. It comes after Dundee United dominated, initially.

Allan McGregor made numerous saves while the Rangers defenders were turned, but eventually – class shone through. Aribo was excellent throughout, scoring the pick of the goals with a left-footed drive from 18 yards.

Marc McNulty did score late on but it was only a consolation, as Rangers went 18 clear – with Celtic losing to Ross County later on on Sunday. With eight games to play, the Gers only need seven points to win the title.

Wright was initially signed on a pre-contract from Aberdeen before the move was made immediate in January, and has made sub appearances in Rangers’ last three outings. He played for the best part of half an hour on Sunday.

Rangers fans discussed his performance after coming on in the second half, and many were impressed – with one suggesting that he will eventually be a replacement for Scott Arfield.
