Rangers slipped further behind in the race for the Scottish title with a late 2-1 defeat away from home against Hearts yesterday.
Liam Boyce netted the winner to put a dent in Rangers’ title hopes, leaving them five points off Celtic, with a game in hand where they could close the gap.
It was a poor performance from the Gers, with few players coming out of it with any credit and usually reliable performers struggling.
Chief among them was Steven Davis, who has had a good season but didn’t get into the game at all yesterday as Rangers’ midfield struggled to have an impact.

Some fans on Twitter criticised the Northern Irishman for his performance, with the acknowledgement that he hasn’t played too many games as poorly as that.
That doesn’t help Steven Gerrard or Rangers in truth, and they lost vital ground in the title race because not enough of Davis’ team mates stepped up to the plate on an off day for the whole squad.
With European football returning in the not too distant future, Gerrard needs to get his squad back on track and having Davis back on top form would go a long way towards that.
Steven Davis shouldn’t be seen in the first 11 for the next few games

If Ryan jack and Steven Davis would like to join us in 2020 that would be good

Steven Davis is a fraud.

Steven Davis was not at it either, never saw him as poor

Rangers deserve to lose this game. Utterly woeful performance from every player. No-one emerges with any credit. He’s been far from the worst offender but Steven Davis can’t have had many worse games than this in his career.
