‘Rangers fans can be proud’, ‘so underrated’: Some fans in awe of 27-year-old’s display for his country

Glasgow Rangers defender Filip Helander put in an impressive performance for his country on Tuesday night, which bodes well ahead of the Ibrox side returning to action this weekend.

The 27-year-old Rangers ace played the full 90 minutes for Sweden, who took on the mighty Portugal in the UEFA Nations League.

Once again, Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show and made headlines as he netted twice in Stockholm, becoming the first European to score over 100 goals in men’s international football.

The Juventus talisman opened the scoring on the stroke of half time, curling home a free kick after Gustav Svensson had been shown a second yellow.

Ronaldo then got a second on 72 minutes, a fine curling strike from outside the box – once again, something Helander could do little about.

Despite the quality of the opposition and the fact his shift got a lot harder after his teammate’s sending off, the Gers ace can be happy with his efforts on the night.

Here is what some Rangers fans have been saying on social media:
