
Rangers scraped into the Europa League group stages with a 0-0 draw against Alashkert – and Rangers fans have applauded Filip Helander.
The Gers came into the match having beaten Armenian side Alashkert in the first leg of the Europa League play-off round.
But it has been a bad week for the Gers. A string of positive tests saw the likes of Allan McGregor and Steven Gerrard miss the trip to Armenia.
Jon McLaughlin was also missing, meaning Robby McCrorie started in goal and he got a clean sheet in his Rangers debut. Rangers drew 0-0.
In the blazing heat, Rangers’ task was made slightly easier when James Santos des Neves was shown a second yellow card on 39 minutes.
Rangers had huge chances to win the tie. Joe Aribo hit the woodwork twice, including an effort that almost hit the net in the final seconds of the game.
