Rangers could now sign player who has previously made 20 appearances under Philippe Clement

Rangers could now sign a player of real pedigree as Philippe Clement targets a strong end to the summer transfer window.

The Gers have been busy so far this summer, making eight signings as Mohamed Diomande, Robin Propper, Hamza Igamane, Vaclav Cerny, Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Connor Barron and Liam Kelly arrive at Ibrox.

Now, Rangers are in talks to complete a ninth signing of the summer…

Rangers in talks to sign Stanley N’Soki

A story from now states that Rangers are in talks with TSG Hoffenheim over a deal to sign Stanley N’Soki.

The Frenchman – who left PSG in 2019 after emerging from the academy – could join Rangers on loan before the transfer window closes on Friday 30th August, according to the French news outlet, with Clement keen on a reunion with the man from Poissy.

N’Soki actually made appearances under the 50-year-old during their time together at Club Brugge, with six of those coming in the UEFA Champions League.

L’Equipe believe talks are ongoing between Rangers and TSG Hoffenheim, with Clement appearing to be a driving force behind the negotiations.

N’Soki – who was once a target for Newcastle – made just 11 appearances in the 2023/24 campaign as he struggled with injuries, specifically problems with his patellar tendon and hip.

Frenchman provides Philippe Clement with an option in several areas

If Rangers are successful in negotiations with TSG Hoffenheim, Clement would have a very versatile option at his disposal in N’Soki.

The 25-year-old is able to play at left-back or as a central defender, making appearances in the latter position throughout his career, and 31 on the left.

N’Soki even has one appearance to his name as a left midfielder, so Clement can call upon the TSG Hoffenheim No.34 to cover a number of different positions, if an agreement materialises before Friday night.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as talks continue between all parties.
