Rangers boss should sign £4m-rated Liverpool player he praised in 2018
Rangers have suffered an almighty fall from grace since their return from a winter break, dropping 13 points behind fierce rivals Celtic.
With that in mind, boss Steven Gerrard is probably resigned to the fact that his second season in management looks like ending, once again, without a trophy.
Determined as a player, Gerrard is likely to return for next season with a stronger desire to finally end Celtic’s dominance in Scottish football.
In order to do that he will certainly need to target some new players to bolster his ranks.

One particular area that he may choose to strengthen is between the posts in goal, with Allan McGregor not getting any younger.
The 38-year-old will have one year left on his deal in the summer and Gerrard should start looking towards a younger model.
Rangers will probably already have their sights set on a few goalkeepers but could the boss return to former club Liverpool to add to his ranks?
Loris Karius is looking for a fresh start and will almost certainly depart Anfield during the summer.
Since dropping a couple of clangers in the 2018 Champions League Final he has struggled to revive himself.
Praise
Gerrard has stated in the past his admiration for the German though and at he could prove value for money.
Speaking after that Champions League Final, ” He is young and they wouldn’t want to bin a good goalkeeper because he does have the potential to be very good.”
Of course, it would represent a risk in taking Karius to Ibrox but it’d hand him another crack at the British game.

At 26, there is plenty of time for the Liverpool man to play himself back into form and he should be capable of thriving in Scotland.
Before that fateful night in Kiev, Karius was playing well. He looked agile, commanding and relatively confident.
Rangers will be in need of a new goalkeeper soon and signing the Liverpool flop could prove a masterstroke if Gerrard’s gamble pays off.
