Ralph Hasenhüttl could save Southampton’s skin by signing Pascal Gross

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhüttl can save Southampton from relegation from the Premier League by signing Pascal Gross from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Austrian coach took charge of his first game on Saturday against Cardiff City, with the Bluebirds running out 1-0 winners thanks to a Callum Paterson strike.

The Saints are in a bit of situation again this term, lying second-bottom in the table after 16 games.

Mark Hughes has been dismissed and ex-RB Leipzig coach Hasenhüttl is the man tasked with retaining the club’s Premier League status come May.

One thing he must address is Southampton’s problem with creating chances and scoring goals.

One player that could make things a little easier on that front is Brighton playmaker Gross.

Gross would keep Southampton up

In his first season, he quickly set about proving to everyone that he was an absolute bargain buy from FC Ingolstadt 04.

Gross finished 2017/18 with seven goals and eight assists to his name, resulting in a new deal in June.

His vision is very impressive and he could seriously aid Southampton with their struggles in front of goal.

At the moment, the only Southampton player to have made any assists at all is Mario Lemina (two).

he speaks to the man he knows from his own Ingolstadt days on a regular basis, so it’s a move that has potential.

The Austrian will have to make sure he moves swiftly if he wants him though, with Liverpool also reportedly eyeing him up for £15 million ().
