Rafa Benitez is a big fan of player Lampard’s reportedly trying to sign for Everton
Everton have been linked with a summer move for influential Brentford midfielder Christian Eriksen.
The Bees face a huge battle keeping hold of the Danish sensation who is out of contract at the end of the season.
The 30-year-old has helped guide Thomas Frank’s side to the brink of Premier League survival and his addition to the promoted side cannot be understated.
Frank’s side have won all four of the top-flight games that Eriksen has started since joining the club on a six-month deal in January.
Prior to the attacking midfielder’s arrival, Brentford had won six of their 27 Premier League games.
According to , Frank Lampard’s Toffees are one of the sides hoping to lure the former Inter Milan away from the Brentford Community Stadium in the summer.
There is a chance that Eriksen could continue his fairy tale under Frank and sign a new contract, but with the number of interested sides growing, Eriksen isn’t going to be short of options.
In his short time back in the Premier League, the legendary Denmark international has already shown he still has what it takes to play at the top level.
Everton aren’t the only Premier League side chasing his signature as Eriksen has been linked with an emotional return to Tottenham where he would reunite with his former Inter boss Antonio Conte.
Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle and West Ham are all looking into offering Eriksen a contract this summer along with Brentford’s local rivals Fulham, who are on the brink of sealing their return to the Premier League.
The midfield technician would be a huge coup for any side this summer given his availability this summer and former Everton boss Rafa Benitez has previously spoken in glowing terms about the quality Eriksen possesses.
Benitez made the comments about Eriksen ahead of the Champions League final between Tottenham and Liverpool at Wanda Metropolitano in Madrid, back in June 2019.
“If Christian Eriksen plays well, then Tottenham will be a big threat because he is the one who finds the passes. He is a very good player.”
