‘Let him cook’… Radu Dragusin hails £30m forward wanted by Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have been very busy in the transfer window over the past 12 months, bringing in a host of top talents.

The likes of James Maddison, Brennan Johnson, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario all joined Spurs last summer and have made a huge impact.

And when the January transfer window ended up being a damp squib for most of the Premier League, the Lilywhites actually made numerous first-team signings.

One of those was Radu Dragusin, who has been finding his feet at Tottenham since his £26.7million move from Genoa at the start of the year.

The 22-year-old looks like a solid prospect and he’ll no doubt grow to become a rock at the back for Spurs.

It just so happens that Dragusin had a teammate at Genoa that Tottenham are apparently monitoring.

And the player in question scored a hat-trick for his country on Thursday night, helping them get to within 90 minutes of Euro 2024.

Tottenham ace Radu Dragusin hails reported Spurs target Albert Gudmundsson

The player in question is Albert Gudmundsson, a 26-year-old forward who has been shining for Genoa and for the Iceland national team.

Gudmundsson’s nation were up against Israel in their semi-final, a game in which the hosts took the lead through Eran Zahavi through a 31st-minute penalty.

The reported Tottenham target equalised eight minutes later through an ‘absolute beauty’ of a free kick from 25 yards out, over the wall and into the top corner.

Arnor Traustason made it 2-1 for the visitors in the 42nd minute, and then Gudmundsson scored twice in the last 10 minutes of the game for a resounding 4-1 win.

Dragusin took to after the game to hail his friend and former colleague (for now, maybe), tagging him along with a graphic of the result and writing “let him cook”.

Back in February,  reported that Spurs are above all of the £30million man’s other suitors in pursuit of his signature.

Let’s see now whether there could be further developments in the coming months. Gudmundsson has certainly put himself in the shop window with his international hat-trick heroics.
