Radu Dragusin decides whether he’d rather join Tottenham or Bayern Munich

Tottenham Hotspur fans may be growing increasingly concerned about their hopes of signing Radu Dragusin, with Bayern Munich now optimistic about signing the centre-back.

Radu Dragusin has been at the centre of one of the first sagas of the January transfer window. For much of the opening week of the month, it appeared that the 21-year-old was destined to end up in North London.

Reports on Tuesday claimed that Dragusin’s agent was flying in to London to finalise a move to Tottenham.

However, Fabrizio Romano claimed shortly after that Bayern Munich had made a bid for Dragusin in an attempt to spark a late twist. However, Romano noted that Tottenham were still hopeful of getting a deal across the line.

But it now seems that the Bavarian giants may actually be on pole position.

Bayern Munich growing optimistic of signing Radu Dragusin ahead of Tottenham

Journalist Gianluigi Longari has now that there is optimism that he will be moving to the Bundesliga champions despite already reaching an agreement with Spurs. He noted that the player’s preference is to move to the Allianz Arena.

Tottenham absolutely need another centre-back as soon as possible. Ange Postecoglou’s side have had to deal without Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero at various points in the season.

That has meant that Emerson Royal and Ben Davies have often played together. So Dragusin would be a brilliant addition to follow the loan signing of Timo Werner.

Spurs will have other targets in mind if their move for the Genoa star falls through. But clearly, it would be a massive setback. Dragusin is Postecoglou’s top target for that position. And obviously, a move is well down the line at this stage.

It does feel as though there are going to be more twists to come before Dragusin’s future is decided once and for all.

But understandably, plenty of Tottenham fans will be relieved once this situation is resolved one way or another.
