Report: Andrea Radrizzani makes £34.3m bid to acquire European outfit; earned promotion last season

Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani is looking to buy Italian outfit Salernitana, .

After several seasons in Serie B, the club earned a promotion to the Italian top-flight. The team finished in second place in the second division five points from third-place Monza.

Rules in Italy forbid someone from owning two clubs in Serie A. Claudio Lotito, who currently owns Salernitana is also the major shareholder at Lazio.

FIGC has given figure until tomorrow to complete a sale for the club and Radrizzani is reportedly interested.

The 46-year-old is willing to pay €60m (£51.5m). However, Tutto Salernitana are claiming his opening bid was €40m (£34.3m).

As a result, a trust is taking over the team, to then later sell to a interested party.

TBR View: Radrizzani bid for Salernitana can benefit Leeds

A few Premier League clubs have figures, who own multiple clubs, not just across Europe, but across the world.

Manchester City’s owners created the City Football Group. And part of their portfolio is Melbourne FC, New York City FC and Girona FC.

Watford’s Giampaolo Pozzo also owns multiple clubs, including the Hornets and Udinese.

It’s a method that allows teams to transfer players seamlessly between the two institutions.

We saw that last summer when Gerrard Deulofeu swapped Hertfordshire for Udine.

Leeds have directly benefitted from the Citizens’ method of sharing players. Jack Harrison was on the books of New York City FC before he moved to the Etihad Stadium.

He subsequently ended up with the Whites, impressing hugely during the promotion and top-flight campaign.

Radrizzani and his bid to buy Salernitana will benefit Leeds. The ability to swap players between the two clubs will be seamless and can help the duo grow further.
