Martin Keown says one Arsenal player was ‘quite magnificent’ against Brighton today
Arsenal had to settle for a draw this afternoon as they were held at home against Brighton and Hove Albion.
In a frantic clash at The Emirates, the result was overshadowed by a red card for Declan Rice just after half-time.
Ally McCoist was one of those confused with the Rice red card while former Arsenal man Ray Parlour went as far as to brand the decisions a disgrace.
However, in the end, Arsenal didn’t show enough on the pitch either to win and there were some poor performances.
Martin Odegaard was picked out by Ian Wright as one of those who struggled.
But while Odegaard and a few others did drop their usual standards a bit, Martin Keown felt that one Arsenal star deserved a lot of praise for his efforts.
That man, was Kai Havertz.

Havertz, of course, got the opening goal of the game with a fine finish over Bart Verbruggen as he continued his fine start to the season.
And former Gunner Martin Keown felt the German deserved a special mention.
Speaking on and talking mainly about the Rice red, Keown found time to drop a quick line of praise in for Arsenal star Havertz.
“I must say, Havertz in that second half was quite magnificent,” Keown quipped in his analysis at full-time.
Havertz now the main man at Arsenal
They might not have signed a striker yet again in the transfer window but Arsenal do seem to have found the solution in Kai Havertz.
A year after signing, he now looks like the main man and one of the best forwards in the business.
He can count himself unlucky to be on the losing side today in all fairness.
Still, as the season goes on, Arsenal will be buoyed by what they’ve seen from Havertz so far and the 20 goal mark appears very achievable.
