‘Pure talent’, ‘Scary for any defender’: Some Arsenal fans rave about 19-year-old’s Euro display
Belgium made it three wins out of three on Monday night at Euro 2020 – and some Arsenal fans on Twitter that were watching picked out rising star Jeremy Doku as a special talent.
Roberto Martinez’s Belgium side beat Finland to secure top spot in Group B of the Euro’s.
The world’s number-one ranked country were on top throughout, but it took an own goal from Finland goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky in the 74th minute to break the deadlock. Additionally, in-form Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku added a second soon after.
Belgium has a star-studded squad with so much talent.
However, a selection of Arsenal fans love what they saw from Doku last night.
Doku grabs attention of Arsenal fans
Doku made his first appearance on Monday at a major senior international tournament. But, that didn’t look like the case.
The 19-year-old attacker started as a right-sided attacker operating behind frontman Lukaku. Similarly, Belgium captain Eden Hazard filled in on the left.
He went close to scoring when he drew a great save from goalkeeper from Hradecky. Meanwhile, he spent his time on the pitch driving at the Finland backline with his pace, trickery and directness.
Doku plays his club football in France’s top flight with Rennes, but some Arsenal fans would love to see him in England at the Emirates Stadium with them.
The speedster already plays with so much bravery for someone so young, so it’ll be intriguing to see how his career develops. Belgium could have another massive talent in their ranks.
He scored two goals and four assists during his debut season with Rennes in the most recent campaign. However, the right-winger offers so much on the ball. And his reputation will soar if he just improves his end product.

Do Arsenal need attacking reinforcements?
For Arsenal, it feels like there most important transfer window in a long, long time.
It’s all good and well supporters suggesting potential exciting targets for them, but they need to make sure they get it right.
Mikel Arteta’s side underwhelming underachieved last season. However, the Gunners manager still has his job.
A lot of the problems his team faced in the recent season were either in defence or midfield. If Arsenal are to prioritise positions to improve this summer, a new winger should be down the bottom of the list.
They already have the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Willian and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang that can play in wide areas.
Doku may be prised away from Rennes in years to come, so Arsenal would be wise to keep an eye out on him. Their budget though right now needs to be focused elsewhere.
The north London club are crying out for some more reinforcements in the centre of the park.
They can’t have any ambition of getting back to where they want to be without something more reliable in the midfield. In addition, the Arsenal defence can be suspect.
Arteta needs to find his best centre-half partnership. A settled right-back would be great, too.
