‘Pure quality’, ‘we need him’: Some Liverpool fans erupt over £10m player’s comments
A number of Liverpool fans have been rejoicing after Divock Origi expressed his desire to stay at Anfield, in conversation with .
The 25-year-old has been on Liverpool’s books since 2014, signing from Wolfsburg for £, and in that time has made 134 competitive appearances for the Reds.
Origi has had two season-long loan spells while with Liverpool, and his role under Jurgen Klopp remains mostly as a substitute and back-up – but his place in Anfield folklore is nonetheless assured.

The Belgium international scored a brace in the 2018-19 Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona, as well as the second goal in the final triumph against Tottenham Hotspur.
Domestically, Origi has netted several key goals against Merseyside rivals Everton, including the 96th-minute winner from Jordan Pickford’s error in December 2018.
Despite signing a long-term contract with Liverpool last summer, there had been suggestions that he could leave Anfield in the summer in the search of more regular game time.
However, Origi has suggested that he’s not planning on going anywhere, telling HLN: “I am a better player than last year. Klopp has given me the space to develop myself. I always listen to my instinct and continue to work.
“We have spoken with Liverpool and we have a nice course ahead of us. I just want to get better here. It is a project for me and I want to follow it.”
Needless to say Origi’s comments went down a treat with the Liverpool fanbase, with some of the rejoicing social media reaction below:
My prince we are unworthy of your presence

This man has Everton questioning their existence everytime he faces them?

I like Origi. He’s been on the sidelines but has played his part. As far as I’ve seen, he trains, he waits, he plays hard and repeats. No airs or graces. No whinging. No temper tantrums. Just plays his game and delivers. It’s called teamwork & some players seem to forget that.

He is pure quality. He just needs the first team around him. Mane and Salah and he has to play in the middle. His first touch, dribbling, shooting is amazing. In the box he is so dangerous but it’s always the risk “will he be consistent enough”
