Pundit thinks Celtic fans want to see what ‘unique’ 21-year-old can do for Neil Lennon’s side
Mark Wilson has given his verdict on the future of Celtic on-loan winger Daniel Arzani, suggesting that “the Celtic fans would like to see what this kid has got”, in conversation with the .
The 21-year-old linked up with the Parkhead side in the summer of 2018 after impressing at the World Cup with Australia.
Arzani joined the Hoops on a two-year loan deal shortly after completing a permanent move to Manchester City from Melbourne City.
However, he has endured a difficult time at Celtic, struggling to break into the first team before suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury on his debut against Dundee in October 2018.
Arzani has since recovered from his ACL injury but has only been given , failing to make every other matchday squad.
“There’s a part of me that thinks he deserves to be given a chance,” Wilson told the . “He has been unlucky with some serious injuries.
“I’m sure the Celtic fans would like to see what this kid has got.
“I would like to see him there but I think the only people that can judge that are the people who have seen him in training.
“I think that will be one for Neil Lennon to ponder over. I don’t know if he would have made his mind up over that one yet.
“Celtic always seem to attract good wingers but I just think the fans would like to see a bit more of Arzani before he gets shunted back to his club. I think another loan deal would be the best way.”

As things stand, Arzani is due to head back to Manchester City in the summer, and it would be very surprising if the English side were to sanction a return to Parkhead given how little game time Lennon has given him since his return to fitness.
It remains to be seen what happens in terms of the rest of the Scottish Premiership campaign – according to , the clubs in the top flight are expected to back a league abandonment in which the Hoops are awarded the title and Heart of Midlothian are relegated.
Were this the case, then there’s a good chance Celtic fans have seen the last of Arzani – a player described as having “a unique quality” and the “x-factor” by former Melbourne City colleague Thomas Sorensen () – in the green and white hoops.
