Pundit thinks Aston Villa could make January move for ‘£15m’ midfield star
Aston Villa boss Steven Gerrard has been tipped by Barry Ferguson to make a January approach for Joe Aribo.
The Villans are in great form since Gerrard took the reins at Villa Park.
With the January transfer window on the horizon, he could well look at his former club for reinforcements.

According to , Gerrard is eyeing four Rangers players for his new club.
Glen Kamara, Ryan Kent, Borna Barisic and Nathan Patterson are apparently on the claret-and-blue radar.
Ferguson, writing in the , has singled Aribo out for praise.
He has clocked up 30 appearances for Rangers this term, registering six goals and four assists.
Aribo has benefited from a more advanced role and his efforts have helped Rangers remain top of the Premiership.
“A bit of everything in his locker”
And Ferguson has gone so far as to say Aribo is now the most important player in the Ibrox dressing room.
“Aribo has taken his game to a whole new level and become an even better player than most of us ever thought he could be,” he wrote.
“Put simply, he has a bit of everything in his locker and he is now the most important player in Van Bronckhorst’s dressing room.
“That’s why it’s so vital he hangs around for at least the rest of the current campaign.
“Because it seems inevitable now that someone is going to come knocking when the window opens, be it Steven Gerrard or some other manager from England’s top flight.

“I’d put a price tag of around £15million on him at this moment, which is £5million more than I would have said just a few weeks ago.
“Even if Gerrard or whoever else comes in with a bid in that ball park, Rangers would be better off telling them to stick it where the sun don’t shine.”
Aribo would be a great shout for Villa but, admittedly, it would be hard to land him mid-season.
Although Rangers have reported losses in their last financial year, selling Aribo in January could be counter-productive for them.
As well as potentially hampering them on the pitch, his departure – particularly to Villa – wouldn’t go down well with Rangers fans.
Such a move is likelier in summer, but perhaps if the Villans make a big enough offer in January, who knows what could happen.
