Pundit says Saka should leave Arsenal if they fail to make top-four

Darren Ambrose that Bukayo Saka should look to leave Arsenal this summer should they miss out on qualifying for the Champions League this season.

The Gunners remain right in the hunt to finish in the top-four this term. In fact, Mikel Arteta’s side find themselves in pole position at present.

Arsenal currently sit sixth in the Premier League table and are four points back of Manchester United. However, they have three games in hand over the two sides above them. They face a massive game this week as they battle Wolves once again.

Arsenal look to be moving in the right direction under Arteta. And there will be some players within the squad who will be aware that there are likely to be plenty of ups and downs in the next couple of years.

However, it looks slightly more urgent for a couple of players that Arsenal do get back into the premier competition on the continent.

Saka has been a shining light throughout his time in the first-team. Meanwhile, there are others who look to boast frightening potential, such as Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Martinelli.

Saka has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester City in recent times. And Ambrose has suggested that he should be looking to move on should the Gunners not be able to offer Champions League football next year.

“I think the time hasn’t quite been right yet. And it will remain to be seen again if he has that love for Arsenal because if they don’t finish in the top-four, then the time is right. He’ll cost a lot of money, don’t get me wrong, because I don’t think Arsenal will sell him easily,” .

“If they don’t get into that top-four, that time is right for him to move on. He belongs in the Champions League.”

Arsenal will fancy their chances of keeping Bukayo Saka even if they miss out this year

Arsenal fans will be under no illusions. Saka is a Champions League player in waiting. He has been labelled ‘special‘ by Roy Keane. It is remarkable that he is only 20 years of age.

However, Saka’s age highlights that he does not necessarily need to rush either. He will surely argue that nothing would be sweeter than realising all of his career ambitions in an Arsenal shirt.

So perhaps it is not imperative that Arsenal make the top-four to keep Saka this season. But they will certainly be wary of running the risk.
