Pundit says Manchester City could beat Liverpool to Jude Bellingham deal
Gabriel Agbonlahor is not exactly on a mission to endear himself to Liverpool supporters, with the pundit telling that he would not be surprised if Manchester City beat them to the signature of Jude Bellingham.
Bellingham appears to be a crucial target for the Reds heading into next summer. It would be no surprise to see Borussia Dortmund sell him given their model in recent years.
And with Liverpool absolutely needing to strengthen their midfield, Bellingham appears to be the name at the very top of their wishlist.

The England international is widely considered one of the brightest talents in the world right now. And the importance of Liverpool securing his signature has only increased after their poor start to the season.
Much may depend on how the Reds finish the campaign. Obviously, it is going to be tougher to attract Bellingham to Anfield if they miss out on qualifying for next year’s Champions League.
Agbonlahor was asked about which English club he could see winning the race for the 19-year-old. And while he suggested Liverpool need him most, he predicted that they may miss out.
“Liverpool, he’d fit in nicely. Liverpool need him the most,” . “But Manchester City, wouldn’t surprise me if they say, ‘get out of the way, guys’.
“Gundogan’s in his thirties, they’re going to let Gundogan go. And Bellingham, in you come. Bernardo Silva, they might even allow him to go because he wants to go to Barcelona.
“They may just say: ‘get out of the way, Liverpool, Manchester United, we’ll have you because we’ve got the power’.”
Of course, it is going to be difficult to turn City down if they come calling. They are in an amazing place right now. And a move to the Etihad Stadium would see Bellingham reunited with Erling Haaland.
Having said that, the opportunity to move to Liverpool will be hard to ignore. The Reds are not having a good season. But Jurgen Klopp has transformed the side in the past. And he will believe that he can do it again.
There is an opportunity to immediately become the fulcrum of the side on Merseyside. They have so much quality. But the midfield now appears to need an overhaul.
Signing the ‘‘ Bellingham would be the ideal way to kick off that overhaul.
