Pundit says even Arsenal fans were shocked by their 26-year-old player vs Brighton

Adrian Clarke has given his verdict on Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus after watching him in action against Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.

The former Arsenal player has noticed what the fans at the Emirates Stadium made of Jesus.

So, what has Adrian Clarke said about Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus? Let’s take a look.

Praise for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus

Well, Arsenal were in action this past weekend. The Gunners took on Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were expected to win the Premier League match in North London, and they did not disappoint. Mikel Arteta’s side won .

Gabriel Jesus scored the first goal of the match. The Brazil international striker found the back of the net in the 53rd minute when he turned in after a corner.

Former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke was following the match, and he was impressed by the display produced by Jesus, noting how the Emirates Stadium faithful reacted to a piece of skill from the 26-year-old former Manchester City striker in the second half.

Clarke said about Jesus on Arsenal’s : “He was more than that [a nuisance] today, he had so much skill in that performance.

“There was a piece of skill in the second-half when it was fizzed into him, he’s under pressure, he touches it and flicks it over the guy, I mean the crowd just went ’Woah!’.

“I just love watching him, I think he’s so entertaining and I don’t think he gave the ball away today, last time I checked he didn’t lose it once.

“So, for a centre-forward to go through a game not losing it and also he’s tried things. I just thought it was a near-perfect centre-forward performance.

“Obviously his goal comes from a corner, 10th I think of the season from a set-piece, it flicks off the head of the Brighton player, he’s peeled round the back, it’s really good positioning and he scores.

“So, great day for him, Jesus was great, Rice was great, they were probably the two picks.”

Gabriel Jesus a key player for Arsenal

There is speculation that in the January transfer window, Arsenal want to sign a prolific goalscorer who will make the team more potent in attack.

Jesus does not score a lot of goals and needs to be more clinical as well. But, I have no doubt whatsoever that he is a very important player for Arsenal.

The way Jesus presses and attacks the opposition’s defence is key to how Arsenal approach the game under manager Mikel Arteta.

True, the striker is not always in and around the opposition’s penalty box, but he is a very mobile forward who is a nuisance for the defenders.
