Pundit says £85,000-a-week player was wrong to join Tottenham

Radu Dragusin has now been told he made the wrong decision in choosing to sign for Tottenham.

It was Marcel Raducanu who made the comments when speaking to Radio România Actualității.

So, what was said about Radu Dragusin joining Tottenham? Let’s take a look…

Radu Dragusin told he was wrong to join Tottenham

Well, Raducanu – who made appearances for Romania during his playing career – told his fellow countryman that he was wrong to sign for Spurs in January.

Dragusin opted to leave Genoa for Tottenham in a deal worth – despite interest from Bayern Munich.

At the time of writing, the Romania international is yet to start for Spurs due to the solid partnership of Cristiano Romero and Micky van de ven, and Raducanu now believes the 22-year-old should have stayed in Italy.

The 69-year-old : “I say that many teams are waiting for the EURO (UEFA EURO 2024). I don’t think they are in a hurry to move forward, like Tottenham did with Dragusin.

“He should have stayed at Genoa, it would have been better for him to play as a starter until the end of the season. Then offers come by themselves. I say that he was a little hasty.”

Dragusin may well have attracted the attention of some massive clubs this summer had he stayed at Genoa, but that is simply testament to Tottenham recognising his potential and moving quickly – despite already owning Van de Ven and Romero.

22-year-old set to make full debut

Dragusin has needed to be patient since arriving in north London, but the man will get his chance on Saturday after Van de Ven suffered a hamstring injury.

Ange Postecoglou confirmed the Romanian will start against Fulham and make his full Tottenham debut when speaking in his press conference earlier on Friday.

The 58-year-old was by Football London as saying: “I’ll take the suspense out of it. He’ll start tomorrow. He’s had to be patient for his opportunity with Micky and Cristian being outstanding and one game a week. I thought he did well with his opportunity. I think he can bring us something different.”

Hopefully, Dragusin delivers an outstanding performance, and makes Raducanu eat his words.
