Arne Slot is already a popular figure at Liverpool after winning his first three Premier League games in charge – without conceding a goal.
The Dutchman has coped admirably with the pressure of replacing a managerial juggernaut in Jurgen Klopp, steering the Reds to a memorable 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out, having also recorded 2-0 wins over Ipswich Town and Brentford beforehand.
However, Paul Scholes has now suggested there may be trouble in paradise, having noticed a sign that Arne Slot potentially dislikes one Liverpool star…
Paul Scholes thinks Arne Slot does not like Trent Alexander-Arnold
Speaking alongside Jamie Carragher, Gary Neville, Roy Keane and Ian Wright on The Overlap, Scholes has now claimed that the 45-year-old might have a problem with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The 49-year-old : “I was down there (at Old Trafford). Every time he (Trent) was trying his long balls that he can do brilliantly, he (Slot) kept shaking his head and turning round. I thought, I’m not sure he likes him.”
Nonsense.
Slot presumably felt a long ball was not the best option at that specific moment of the game when Scholes caught the Dutchman shaking his head.
That is – at least – a far more probable explanation than jumping to the very bold conclusion that the Liverpool boss actually dislikes one of his most talented players, which is quite a reach, in all honestly.
Whether this is simply a Manchester United legend attempting to stir the pot and disturb Liverpool’s bright start to the season or not is a mystery – one only Scholes himself will know.

Whether Slot likes the 25-year-old or not, Liverpool could still lose him in 2025.
In case you hadn’t seen, Real Madrid are determined to sign Alexander-Arnold next summer, and Liverpool may be powerless to prevent an exit, as the man from West Derby sees his contract expire in July 2025.
As a result of his contract situation, the Liverpool academy graduate is currently valued at (£26m).
Interestingly, Barcelona are also said to be admirers of Alexander-Arnold amid his uncertain situation.
Hopefully, Liverpool can keep the homegrown talent at Anfield, as he is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in Europe.
