Pundit claims £47.5m Premier League player would love to join Arsenal before the transfer deadline
Arsenal have tied up one deadline day signing but fans may still hold out hope for one arrival before the summer transfer window slams shut.
Aaron Ramsdale has finalised his move to Southampton and that means Arsenal needed to find another goalkeeper to compete with David Raya.
The Gunners are now set to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Neto, landing him on loan from Premier League rivals Bournemouth.
Neto arrives with plenty of experience and should prove to be a solid addition both on and off the pitch having been Bournemouth’s captain.
Time is now running out but Arsenal fans may well have hope for one more addition – another winger.

Chris Sutton on Raheem Sterling to Arsenal
Arsenal would love to bring in Nico Williams but signing the Athletic Club winger is simply not going to happen this summer.
The Gunners have been offered an interesting prospect though – the chance to sign Raheem Sterling.
Chelsea are effectively freezing Sterling out of their first-team plans as they want the winger to leave, two years since his £47.5million move from Manchester City, as noted by .
Time is running out but reports suggest that Mikel Arteta does thing Sterling would be a positive addition for Arsenal.
Those claims highlighted that Arsenal will only pay Sterling £150,000-a-week and want him on a free transfer – two parameters which may not materialise.
Pundit Chris Sutton has now been asked about Sterling and a possible move to Arsenal.
Speaking on (30/08, 3:35), Sutton suggested that Arsenal would be a ‘great move’ for Sterling.
Sutton feels that Arsenal don’t have strength in depth on the flanks and Sterling could really boost Arteta’s options.
The former Chelsea striker added that Sterling would probably ‘bite an arm off’ in order to sign for Arsenal, believing he would be so desperate to leave Chelsea for the Gunners.
“Oh blimey, yeah,” said Sutton. “I think that would be a great move for Raheem Sterling and maybe Arsenal, in the wide areas, they don’t have that strength in depth, so there’s a strong argument to say that Raheem Sterling would be a good addition for Arsenal.
“Raheem Sterling at Chelsea, I don’t think, in the last couple of seasons, has hit the heights, so I think Raheem Sterling would bite an arm off to get across to Arsenal, if that can happen,” he added.
Arsenal may choose to wait for Nico Williams
Arsenal were quick to pivot away from Mykhailo Mudryk in January 2023, signing Leandro Trossard instead.
Whilst Mudryk is struggling at Chelsea, Trossard is being hailed as ‘unbelievable’ by Arteta.
That was a great example of Arsenal moving away from one target but Nico Williams may be a different story.
The Spaniard is Arsenal’s dream signing on the left flank but just wasn’t willing to leave Spain this summer.
Arsenal may well try again for Williams in 2025 but won’t want to take another winger if that could harm a potential future deal for Williams.
Adding Sterling would bring in another body and hefty wages, which may become a problem down the line.
The Gunners may take a long-term view here and hold off from signing Sterling in order to make another big push for Williams – possibly in January or next summer.
