PSG perform U-turn as ‘complete’ player Arsenal wanted to sign in January now put up for sale, Andrea Berta is alert

Arsenal were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League at the semi-final stage by PSG.

Goals from Ousmane Dembele, Fabian Ruiz and Achraf Hakimi secured a 3-1 win over the Gunners across two legs, although Mikel Arteta can take some comfort from the fact Arsenal lost to the eventual winners.

PSG reigned supreme in Munich with an emphatic 5-0 win over Inter Milan, and with squad planning now taking place at the Parc des Princes, Arsenal could finally get their hands on Lee Kang-in after January interest.

PSG ready to sell Lee Kang-in

TBR Football revealed in January that Arsenal wanted to sign Lee – who Newcastle and Manchester City were also monitoring – although PSG were against losing the South Korea international at that stage of the season.

Now, according to in France, the champions of Europe are ready to sell the 24-year-old, as Luis Enrique aims to take his side to the next level after winning the UEFA Champions League.

The French news outlet believe PSG are also open to selling Goncalo Ramos, with both players contracted until June 2028.

Lee only made four starts in the UEFA Champions League last season, with none of those coming in the knockout stage, and started just 19 out of a possible 34 games in Ligue 1.

claim that Andrea Berta has encouraged Arteta to make space in his squad for the PSG No.19 – who the Parisians paid £18.8m to sign from RCD Mallorca back in July 2023.

Why Lee Kang-in could become one of the most vital players at Arsenal

Arsenal are currently focused on signing a new striker, but the Gunners cannot afford to miss out on this market opportunity.

Lee is a highly versatile player who can help Arteta in a number of areas. Last season alone, the man from Incheon appeared in seven different positions for PSG, including one stint at right-back.

Enrique even hailed this versatility in November 2023, telling Amazon: “Kang-In Lee, he’s small but he can play up front, behind, go inside, on the side, defend, score. He’s a complete player.”

Enrique typically fielded the South Korean in a central attacking midfield role or on the right – making 12 and 13 appearances in those areas respectively – so he would mainly provide a useful alternative to either Bukayo Saka or Martin Odegaard, if a deal materialised this summer.
