Proving doubters wrong is driving Bailey Peacock-Farrell to improvement
Bailey Peacock-Farrell was the hero for Leeds United on Tuesday night. With the home side 1-0 up against Reading at Elland Road the Northern Ireland international saved Marc McNulty’s 90th-minute penalty to secure all three points for the West Yorkshire side.
It was yet another moment when Peacock-Farrell rose above the doubters. The likelihood is, were it not for Jamal Blackman breaking his leg, Peacock-Farrell would not have been playing in this game.
He has recently hit a bumpy patch of form and Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa was set to give him a run out of the first-team. Peacock-Farrell has risen to that challenge in some style.

But Leeds fans should not be surprised.
, he is lucky to still be at Elland Road. Paul Heckingbottom, Bielsa’s predecessor, had told the Leeds board it was best to release Peacock-Farrell a year ago.
It came after a disappointing loan spell at York City, where fans were less than impressed. He also had a brief trial at Swedish club Landskrona. But the Swedish second tier outfit also .
A year later, he is still working hard to prove doubters wrong. Having that need to prove yourself can be a powerful personal weapon in football and Leeds fans will hope ‘BPF’ continues to push himself.
Who knows where it could take him in another year?
