‘Probably’… Alan Smith shares who he thinks will win the Champions League if it’s not Arsenal
The Champions League really does feel as though it’s up for grabs this season.
With many big teams faltering at the moment, there’s room for a dark horse to make a real charge in this competition.
Speaking to Goal on , Alan Smith has been asked to predict who he thinks will win the Champions League this term.
As you can imagine, Smith’s Arsenal bias came into play here, and he picked the Gunners.
However, he said that if Arsenal don’t win it, he can see Manchester City becoming only the second team to retain the Champions League trophy.

Man City will win the Champions League if Arsenal don’t
Smith spoke about who he fancies in this year’s Champions League.
“I’d like to say Arsenal, but if not Manchester City, they’re the best team in the world at the moment, it would probably be them,” Smith said.
Potential final
It really wouldn’t surprise us at all if this is the Champions League final in a few months’ time.
With Bayern Munich faltering, PSG a mess and Barcelona all over the place, it really feels like Real Madrid are the only other contenders for the Champions League this term.
If Arsenal and City can avoid one another in the draw and one of them can eliminate Real Madrid, we could easily see this being the final at Wembley this year, and that is such an exciting prospect.
These two are undoubtedly two of the best teams in Europe, and while most of the focus is on their rivalry at domestic level in the race for the Premier League title, they could also be on a collision course to compete with one another for European football’s top prize as well.
The Champions League is certainly difficult to predict this year, but Arsenal and City have to be in the conversation when it comes to potential winners.
