Preston fans react as Alex Neil battles Rangers for Sheffield Wednesday’s Cameron Dawson
Rangers and Preston North End are both in the hunt to sign Cameron Dawson, .
Dawson is out of contract at the end of the season and could leave Sheffield Wednesday. Despite being a boyhood fan, he is struggling for game time this season.
Keiren Westwood is Garry Monk’s first-choice goalkeeper at Hillsborough with Dawson providing back-up. But Sheffield Wednesday also have Joe Wildsmith so Dawson might be allowed to leave.

The 24-year-old has played just under 50 games for the Owls, most of which came when Westwood was frozen out. He saved a penalty in the Steel City derby against Sheffield United and kept a clean sheet, which is the finest moment of his career to date.
Four clubs are reportedly monitoring Dawson’s contract situation ahead of a potential move in January or next summer. Blackburn Rovers and Derby County will provide competition with Rangers and Preston for Dawson.
Alex Neil is leading Preston into a promotion challenge and he wants a new goalkeeper. But he faces a battle with Rangers. Here are some tweets from Preston fans on Dawson.
Do we have to replace Rudd? I think he is one of the best. ?

Interesting as Rudd is negotiating a new contract with the club

Feel like we’ll really push for this seen as we really need a keeper. We are the most appealing club on that list IMO

Probably no surprise to see goalkeepers linked in January for Cameron Dawson the latest,we do still have 4 on the books though

I think we defo need a new keeper if we want to maintain this. Even Sunday in stoppage time Rudd not coming off his line could have cost us. Darnell again having a go because of it
