President says Arsenal target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is the best midfielder in the world
Milinkovic-Savic has been linked with a move away from Lazio in every window over the last few years. A move just hasn’t materialised for him – mainly due to his mammoth price tag.
The Serbian’s most recent transfer valuation, as revealed by Lazio president Lotito, was an eye-watering £105 million (€120m). Tottenham, Arsenal and most other clubs in the world will have to smash their transfer records to afford that.
Now, after Milinkovic-Savic’s fantastic performance for Serbia in the World Cup against Cameroon, it looks like Lotito’s valuation will definitely not come down. It may even, in fact, go up.
The Lazio president told , as quoted by : “Guess how much he’s worth – he scored a goal at the World Cup with his ankle injured, and he’s the best midfielder in the world.”
Just about a week ago, reported that Arsenal are very keen to sign the Serbian and are even willing to send Albert Sambi Lokonga to the blue side of Rome as a part of the deal.
Milinkovic-Savic will enter the final 18 months of his contract in January, and Lazio are desperate for him to pen a new deal.

TBR View:
We don’t know if Milinkovic-Savic is the best midfielder in the world, but he’s definitely up there with the best in the Serie A.
The 27-year-old scored 11 goals and picked up 12 assists in all competitions last season for Lazio, while in this campaign, he boasts five goals and seven assists so far after 20 games.
That is a sensational return. and the fact that he is in the prime years of his career has made Lotito demand an outrageous fee to let him go.
However, if Milinkovic-Savic does not pen his new deal, he will have just a year left on his contract next summer. His valuation will surely come down then.
