Prepare for the worst? Tottenham Hotspur should have Sean Dyche lined up
It appears Tottenham Hotspur may have to start preparing for the worst after all. It seemed at one point that Spurs could rest easy, safe in the knowledge that Mauricio Pochettino was going nowhere this summer. That no longer appears to be the case.
The Argentine, wants to take over the vacancy at Real Madrid. Zinedine Zidane stepped down as manager this week and Pochettino immediately became a firm favourite to be linked with the role.
Despite signing a new deal earlier in the summer, it appears Pochettino could be on his way out of Tottenham.
Of course, that is the worst case scenario. But the old adage says to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. With that in mind, who would Spurs replace Pochettino with?

There would be an immediate litany of big names seemingly in the frame for such a job. But if Spurs need to appoint a new manager this summer they need to give Sean Dyche the opportunity he deserves.
The 46-year-old has proven himself to be a magnificent manager at current club Burnley. Their performances this season have been truly sublime. The Clarets ended up finishing the campaign seventh. They finished above the likes of Everton and Leicester and just nine points behind the vastly financially superior Arsenal.
His role in Burnley’s transformation was made perfectly clear with a new deal until 2022 in January and by the fact a pub in the Lancashire town renamed themselves after the Burnley supremo.
What he has done with what is clearly a less superior side and with a tiny transfer budget compared to the 19 others deserves immense credit. Imagine what he could do with the resources available to him at Tottenham.
Pochettino was a gamble when he was brought in from Southampton. He had also worked wonders and has proven to be a star to the Tottenham fans.
Give Dyche the same opportunity and he might just prove worthy of such a role.
