Premier League: Team of the Week XXIV

It was a stunning team performance from Antonio Conte’s Chelsea over the weekend. as they tightened their grip on top spot in the Premier League with a convincing 3-1 win over Arsenal. Tottenham, nine points adrift of the leaders, remain the Blues’ closest rivals in the title race, after they secured a 1-0 win at home to Middlesbrough, courtesy of Harry Kane’s spot-kick.

Manchester City’s late 2-1 win over Swansea saw them climb to third, whilst Liverpool fell to fifth after they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at the KCOM Stadium against a resurgent Hull. Just behind them remain Manchester United, whose 3-0 win over struggling defending champions Leicester was enough to keep them sixth.

Further down the table, Sunderland stunned fellow strugglers Crystal Palace with four goals before the break to win at Selhurst Park and pile the pressure on new Eagles boss Sam Allardyce. Elsewhere, Everton hit six against Bournemouth in a topsy-turvy encounter at Goodison Park, Watford won at Vicarage Road against ten-man Burnley, West Brom overcame Stoke at the Hawthorns as Tony Pulis extended his impressive record against his former club, and West Ham came from behind to win at Southampton.
