Premier League: Team of the Week XXI feat. Spurs and Everton stars
Coach: Slaven Bilic (West Ham United)
Formation: 4-3-3
It was a very tight pick between this man and Ronald Koeman who oversaw his side’s 4-0 triumph over Manchester City, but taking into account the week that everyone at West Ham has been forced to endure, it had to go to the man dubbed by Irons fans as ‘Super Slav’.
After watching Manchester City unceremoniously dump his team out of the FA Cup by five goals to nil at home last time out, Bilic and the Hammers were rocked by star-man Dimitri Payet’s shock announcement that he wishes to leave the club, whilst vowing to never feature for Bilic’s side again.
With morale at a low after the cup result, the Payet revelation had the potential to be catastrophic for his low-on-confidence side, but he rallied his troops magnificently and they never looked like losing against Crystal Palace, another team struggling at the wrong end of the table. The Eagles had the potential to make this a real fight, but Bilic not only galvanised his troops and got a response out of them with a victory, they absolutely blew Palace away and sent them packing the short way back to South London. A 3-0 win after a difficult week, Bilic is well worth his money as our nominee here.
